Seven Up Bottling Company (SBC) Plc has pledged its continuous contribution to the Nigerian economy through the establishments of more plants and other supporting infrastructure across the country to support its operations.

Speaking at the media interactive session held at Eko Hotel & Suites to announce the company's 50 years of existence, Faysal El-Khalil, Chairman of SBC, said the company is celebrating the feat of becoming one of the biggest bottlers on the African continent that was built on best practice and world class management. He said, "we have nine plants and several depots spread across the region serving the needs of Nigerians in the different regions of the country"

El-Khalil said SBC has contributed immensely to the economic growth of Nigeria while at the same time providing employment for many Nigerians. "Currently we employ over 9,000 Nigerians and indirectly provide income for over 100,000 households who have also contributed in no small measure to what we are today."

Over the years, SBC has imprinted its footprints in lives of Nigerians through its various Corporate Social Investments. The company SBC sponsored the first Miss Nigeria beauty pageant and created the Pepsi Football Academy which has churned out stars like Mikel Obi, Osaze Odemwingwe and Taye Taiwo, to mention a few.

In celebrating the anniversary, SBC pledges to continue to invest in sustainable growth, invest in more plants and infrastructure and give back to the people through meaningful and impactful CSR initiatives. In furtherance of this, SBC is planning an anniversary event tagged "7Up future is green bash" in October that will feature Senegalese born American artiste Akon and the biggest Nigerian Stars. Also, the company will give full scholarship to study in Harvard Business School to one aspiring young Nigerian yearly. According to Mani, "We hope these people will come back to Nigeria after their studies to lead Nigerian businesses and build them into players in the global business arena".
